Among them the Temple of Lord Venkatesha situated in Fanaswadi, Mumbai is well-known. It is famous pilgrim centre in Western India which is recognised by the name “Chota Tirupati”.

Founder of this Temple – Mudumbai-nambi Clan is one of the 74 Peethadhipatis commissioned by Sheshavatara Bhagavan Ramanujacharya. Varavaramuni who is also an incarnation of Ramanujacharya commissioned Ashta diggaja Acharyas. Among them is Prativadibhayankaram Hastyadrinatheshvara clans Mudumbai Anna’s great grand-son P. B. Ananthacharya Swamiji Maharaj who built Sriranganatha-Venugopalaswamy-Sansthan at Tirtharaj Pushkar. In Vaikundavinnkarama branch of Gadi Tirumaligai was headed by Srinivasacharya whose brother Shri Aravamudhacharya had a son P.B. Krishnamachrya. His successor and son Shri P.B. Ananthacharya is well known by the name Jagadguru Gadi Swami who was learned in Shastras and also Sudarshana Upasaka. He became the Head of Shri Kanchi Prativadi-Bhayankara Mutt and is the founder of Shri Venkatesh Mandir who consecrated the Icon of Venakatesh Bhagavan in Temple. In order to fulfil the desires of the ardent devotees of Lord Srinivasa, P.B. Ananthacharya Swamy started building the temple using his own earned property funds. In this gigantic task donations from ardent devotees and philanthropists from far and wide became handy in completion of the same. In the year 1920 on an auspicious occasion the foundation stone was laid and the construction work started in full swing. In 1927 the construction work was completed and consecration ceremony started on Saturday the 4th June and pranapratishthapan Samprokhsanawas done on Friday the 10th June 1927. At that time he offered a prayer to Lord Venkatesha, summarized thus: Oh!mercifulGod Srinivasa, you are the Deity of the entire universe, yet come here from Tirupati and stay here in this archamoorthi for completing the desires of devotees of Mumbai. Oh Lord Venkatesha, by your continuous presence here kindly dispel the ignorance in the heart of the devotees of Mumbai and kindle bhakti instead at your feet. Your incarnations are many for protecting the dharma and one of them be this archavatara where your complete nearness is felt in protecting virtues as value of our life. After getting His presence here in the temple as archavatara Ananthacharya Swamiji took a Sankalpa as per the prescriptions of dharmashastra and offered the Mandir and the entire treasure belonging to him to Lord Srinivasa and said that the owner of all these treasure is Sri Venkatesha Bhagavan only. Then on he was running the temple as a Dharmakarta - a Patronindividually on the model of Kancheepuram Divyadesha Varadaraja Temple.

Formation of Trust : Even in future to continue the worship of deity and other activities of the temple, Swamiji called the entire srivaishanavas of Mumbai and trustees of the temple and shared his desire to form a trust. Thus he made a trust deed and got it registered 0n 21st June 1935 in Mumbai. From that time as per the directions of Patron, Temple deliberations are carried out. For the internal management one Common-Systemis written which is mentioned in Third Section of the Trust deed.

Beginning words of Trust deed : This treasure is earned by me and hence it is my own earnings. I believe that this treasure is utilized properly if a temple is built and in that after consecration of Lord Venkateshavara let there be offering of food and willing service to Lord so that the next generation would also get the benefit of serving Lord and become a receptacle of His Grace. They will be able to get prosperous in this life and then be fit to get his grace enabling liberation also at a proper time. The Main Lord worshipped in this temple is of Shri Venkatesha Swami and his Divine Consort Godess Padmavati in Archavatara form. It is a basic necessity for a divyadesha organized by human beings to have a direct relation with Devapratishthit or Siddha pratishtitadivyadesham. One of the 18 divyadehshas of Kanchipuram is Yathoktakari Bhagavan whose pratishta was done by none other than PitamahaBrahmaji. One among 11 divyadeshas of Tirunanguris Prushottamabhagavan’s Divyadesh from which we have ShriSudarshana Chakra. Both these were brought in palanquin by Pada-yatra to Mumbai with offerings on the way from time to time which is unimaginable without the help of any vehicle. This was the effect of continuous meditative powers of P.B. Ananthacharya SwamijiMeharaj. Trust Board : After the departure of Shri P.B. Ananthacharya to the Divine Abode his successor Shri Gadi P.B. Krishnamacharya Swamiji and Presently his son Shri Gadi P.B. ShreenivasacharyaSwamiji have headed the board of Trustees and guiding the deliberations of the temple.
